I really mess with this Soul on Fire. I'm usually on OS lookin for some different fresh material that's not really mainstream and I came across this cat NeakO. When I saw the picture, I knew it was going to be different from the reg. Hopefully we'll be able to hear some more material from him. This is on his mixtape The Rubix Cube: The Green Edition. He has already dropped The Red Edition hosted by Sickamore.  So it could possibly be a 6 part series...maybe a mixtape in every color (only makes sense lol).

I was on NR earlier and found out that Lupe's on Twitter. Right b4 I logged in, I saw some of his post on the site and he mentions that LupEND is cancelled. Now he is coming out with an album that is more on some "And He Gets The Girl" type ish. It sounds like its about to be on some Revenge of the Nerds album. We shall see.

Changes

I watched Kanye perform See You In My Nightmares few weeks ago and before he got into the song, he mentioned something that I thought was pretty interesting. He mentions that today in the game, it's more about change. He made the point that if some people continue to put out the same thing they put out years ago, people would lose interest. I agree when it come to some extent for some artists that are not as commercial as they were 2-3 years ago. When it comes to Ye, him changing it up in 808's may have been a little different, but more people fucks with him because he found another way to appeal to the masses. Me, another artist that I've seen change almost dramatically in the past year or two would be Lil Wayne. If you compare Tha Carter III to Tha Carter, Wayne sounds damn near like two totally different people. If you listen to Tha Catter III, do you notice in most songs, maybe even all the songs, he is straight spitting? There are NO stacks to his voice in the lyrics or hooks, there may not even be any adlibs, it is him straight spittin. To me, him doing that made his music more appealing. (A lot of people say his spitting now is influenced by Drake, but that's a totally different post) And now he's putting out the rock album. People off top are going to fuck with the rock album. 1.) Because he is doing almost the same thing he did on Tha Carter III but his instrumentals have a more rock feel. & 2.) Because people fucked with Tha Carter III so hard, seeing that it went 3x's platinum (meaning people ARE buying his shit), it's almost a definite that this crossover could appeal to a bigger mass than his last CD. He could possibly go diamond (Who was the last rapper to go diamond? Em?). Nowadays, because of the internet, it's almost impossible for anybody to go platinum. But for him to crossover, it could be possible for him to be one of the biggest things in not just hip hop, but music.
